Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) are installed on many new diesel engined vehicles and plant. If you are not sure if your vehicle has one, check the owners manual or original documentation. The purpose of a DPF filter is to remove particles from the emissions of the vehicle and reduce the amount of soot produced, ultimately reducing the level of toxic emissions released in to the environment.
The more you use the vehicle, the more the filter will require cleaning and will enter DPF Regeneration Mode. When this happens a light will appear on the dashboard while the cleaning process takes place. During this mode, the excess material caught by the filter will be removed or burnt off. A certain amount of power needs to be used during this process by the engine, if insufficient power is available, the regeneration process will fail to complete. Typically short distance driving or driving at low speed can prevent the regeneration process from completing correctly.
If the Diesel Particulate Filter is unable to correctly clean itself, it will slowly become blocked and eventually be unable to function correctly. At this point you will see another light appear on the dashboard, sometimes the original DPF light will change colour. On these occasions it will be necessary to take your vehicle to a service centre. Many service centres will then be able to run a regeneration process to attempt to manually clean the filter. Unfortunately, this method can sometimes fail and we have noticed in many instances, some service centres will advise to replace the filter, at a cost of somewhere in the region of £2,000.
At DPF Cleaning Services we are proud to continue with our mission to offer great service at an affordable price. If you have been advised to replace your DPF filter, then call us direct! We can clean almost any DPF filter and return it to the vehicle in nearly new condition and prevent the need to fit a replacement filter. The process cost a fraction of the price of a replacement DPF Filter. Give us a call today on 01403 374545 or 07934 844233 and let us tell you how much money we can save you.
We are based in Horsham, West Sussex and work within the LLEZ London low emission zone. We specialise in DPF filter installations on trucks, coaches, vans and specialised vehicles. Our after sales offers a filter cleaning service to maintain the best operation of your vehicles we clean silicon carbide and active cordite filters. Most filter are cleaned best by using a high heat to burn the blocked filter deposits (ie soot and particulates), this process leaves ash and burnt soot which we then give a pulse cleaning cycle.
The Low Emission Zone (LEZ) was introduced in 2008 to encourage the most polluting heavy diesel vehicles driving in the Capital to become cleaner. The LEZ covers most of Greater London. To drive within it without paying a daily charge, these vehicles must meet certain emissions standards that limit the amount of particulate matter (a type of pollution) coming from their exhausts.

If you have a vehicle that works for long periods of time at low revs and low temperature, the retro fit internal heat system may be the answer.
The Fuel Reburn System is operated by the driver, and they have to do is push a button. This will create heat at the face of the DPF of 400dc for 6 minutes. Long enough to create a reburn within the DPF filter unit.
The insulation jacket works by trapping a small amount of heat that is prodcued whilst driving at low speed and low temperature in any town or city environment.
The idea is to create a separate environment from the outside temperature to the inside, therefor allowing the diesel partculate filter to gain temperature high enough to allow regeneration to take place. With the store heat when the engine starts to work harder the temperature rises very quickly the jacket enables the DPF filter to work without any adverse control of the outside temperature therefor regeneration can take place.
On your fleet, or as an owner driver, if you have a diesel particulate filter you may have a need to remove an existing DPF unit and to install on to another vehicle, that would have to be compatible engine size and power, the filter must be Euro 4 we can carry out the reinstall of the used DPF unit this would apply to large vans, trucks and buses/coaches. All paperwork relevant to the donor vehicle must be supplied and kept, this will include a copy of the logbook, installation of DPF Filter certificate for us to be able to remove and reinstall.
